Every Girl’s and Every Boy’s Alphabets - available to order now

We are delighted to announce the publication of two enchanting new children’s alphabet books in a signed limited edition of only 150 each.

Every Girl’s and Every Boy’s Alphabets are the result of a collaboration between

artist Luke Martineau, poet Kate Bingham & bookbinder Kate Holland.

Every Girl’s and Every Boy’s Alphabet are destined to be collectable classics, in which sensitive observation and clever use of form combine to create two beautiful companion pieces. Printed in Martineau, a new font made for this project, on 160gsm Heritage Bookwhite paper and presented in their own gift box, each edition is limited to 145 standard cloth copies (£95) and 5 luxury copies in full leather with onlays (£450).

The perfect gift, these books are also a must for any collector of Luke’s or the two Kates’ work.

Standard edition books will be securely packaged and sent by Special Delivery. Please allow 7-10 days from payment.

Luxury edition books may take a little longer as they are bound to order. Please ask about timings.

Luke Martineau is a painter of landscapes, portraits and still life. He is much in demand for his conversation pieces of families, and children in particular. He is perhaps best known for his atmospheric oils of the River Thames, as well as for his travel pieces from such destinations as Venice, USA, Cambodia, Hong Kong and India, where, in 2010, he was official tour artist with HRH The Prince of Wales.

Kate Bingham is the author of two novels, several screenplays and three collections of poetry. Quicksand Beach was short-listed for the Forward Prize Best Collection in 2006, and in 2010 ‘On Highgate Hill’ was short-listed for the Forward Prize Best Single Poem. Her third collection is Infragreen (Seren 2015) and her most recent work can be found in Five Poems, a leaflet available from Clutag Press.

Kate Holland is a multi-award winning bookbinder specialising in contemporary fine binding to commission. She is a Fellow of Designer Bookbinders and has books in public and private collections around the world, including the British, Bodleian and Yale University Libraries. She increasingly works with clients on the whole book, overseeing all aspects of production from artwork and printing through to the finished binding. She has been commissioned again to bind one of this year’s Booker Prize shortlisted titles for presentation to the author.
